Landslide! is a project completed while I was at SFU. We were given a “broken” game and told to improve upon the design. For reference, the original game can be found here.
The objective of Landslide! is to safely navigate to the top of the cliff without falling. In order to move safely up the cliff, players must take time to secure hand- and footholds before moving, while still avoiding rocks falling from above. In addition, the player must reach the top in a specified amount of time before the wall crumbles into a landslide.
This combined necessity for speed and caution encourages the player to evaluate the most acceptable risks to take in order to get up the cliff-side in the allotted time.
